Closed for Christmas

Merry Christmas and happy new year!

The shop will now nee closed until Tuesday January the 3rd when it will reopen with the usual hours

As always, thank you for all your support during 2022, another challenging year. It’s blown me away how busy the shop has been, and it means a lot that customers keep choosing to bring work in despite all that is going in. For that I thank you.

I will continue to do all I can to insure the principles of The Frame Shop are upheld during 2023.

See you next year

Pete

Christmas Orders

Due to high demand, the shop can no longer take in any more work that will be ready for Christmas.

Sorry for any inconvenience, but I don’t want to bite off more than I can chew.

Thank you as always for your understanding, Pete

End of 2021

Hello everyone!

The shop is now closed until the 8th of January 2022.

Thank you as always for supporting the shop over the last year, it really has been incredible the amount of work and positivity that has come our way in 2021 and it’s been a real pleasure working on so many different projects.

Have a great Christmas and new year, we’ll do it all again in 2022!

See you soon, Pete

Shop closure and Christmas

Good morning everyone!

Just a quick post to let you know that having tested positive for Covid I am now in self isolation. The timing couldn’t be much worse as we were beginning to get in the full Christmas swing, but it is was it is!

So, obviously I can’t be in the shop this week which will impact the workflow in different ways.

  • Firstly any work that would have been completed this week now will not be. But I’ll pick up where I left off as soon as I can back in.

  • This in turn will delay any work that was already in with us, but again I will do my best to get it all done asap and certainly pre Christmas.

  • Both of the above mean that we can longer take any new work in that will be ready before Christmas. This is a tough decision, but I don’t want to bite off more than I can chew and let people down at this time of year.

Although I can’t make it into the shop, Mandy will be there for her usual hours. M T 10-1.30pm and T F 10-5pm. She will help with queries and be ready to hand out any completed work already with us.

Thank you all once again for your patience and understanding.

See you soon,

Pete

Taking new work in

First of all I would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone that has been into the shop over the last week, it has been fantastic to finally get people in through the doors again, the support the shop receives from it’s customers is amazing and much appreciated.

The shop has been extremely busy this week as we anticipated, and a large amount of work has been taken in. Because of this I have taken the decision not to take in any more work unless it has been pre arranged by telephone or email. This should give me the chance to make inroads into the work that has already come in whilst ensuring all work is stored in the shop safely. It is this that I am most keen to achieve.

Hopefully this decision won’t actually affect the lead times for the completion of work as i’ll work as hard and fast as ever, but at the same time there is limited storage space in my little shop!

This is a temporary measure that is born out of very strange circumstances that hopefully won’t last long and won’t have to be repeated.

I will inform you of any changes as soon as they happen.

Thank you in advance for your understanding and working with me on this,

Pete

Reopening...again!

Good morning, the shop will once again open it’s door to customers on Monday the 12th of April 2021 at 10am.

The normal opening hours will apply, 10-3 Monday and Tuesday, 10-5 Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The shop will be closed on Wednesdays and Sundays.

I anticipate a busy period for the shop as people bring work in that they haven’t been able to during the latest lockdown. Mandy and I will do our best to get through the orders as swiftly as possible but, I expect longer lead times than usual.

We will make every effort to ensure that the shop is run as safely as possible. Last year this meant that only one customer at a time was permitted into the shop. Hand sanitiser is available at the door and I think for now only Mandy and I should handle the samples. Masks must be worn unless you are exempt from doing so. We will do everything we can to ensure the safety of all who enter the shop by doing the same.

That’s all for now, I will adjust and adapt as we go along and keep you informed of any changes.

I look forward to seeing you all in the shop again

Pete

The latest lockdown

Good morning, as I’m sure you are aware non essential retail has once again been told to close and that means The Frame Shop!

There isn’t really much more I can add, but I think we are all at the stage now where we are hoping for a swift and real change to the situation we find ourselves in. I will keep you all posted on when we may be allowed to reopen and in the meantime I will be working behind the scenes to keep things ticking over.

Mandy and I have done our best over the last year to balance the business and the well being of ourselves and of course the customers. I think that the fact we have stayed open and healthy when allowed is testament to our efforts, but more importantly the understanding and vigilance of all the customers and delivery drivers that have come through the door in 2020. For this, I thank you all.

For now it’s back to home schooling duties (and the occasional trip to the shop for a break!)

See you all soon

Pete

Reopening the shop

As I’m sure you’re aware, non essential shops will be allowed to open their doors to the public again on Monday the 15th of June.

This means the Frame Shop will be up and running again from 10am on Monday!

I will try to keep everything as close to how it was pre lockdown as possible. I will have to make some changes though. The shop opening times may vary as my two children are not back at school yet, and there is no real sign of that changing anytime soon. My wife is working hard to keep her own school running, so that potentially limits the amount of time I can physically be in the shop. I will endeavour to keep everyone up to date with any closures or changes in opening hours as best I can, thank you in advance for your understanding.

Many of you will have been served by Phil prior to lockdown and will know that he was integral in keeping the shop running as smoothly as it did. Unfortunately during the lockdown period, Phil damaged his back and this means he is unable to return to work in the shop at this time. So whilst wishing Phil a speedy recovery, I have also asked Mandy to join me at The Frame Shop. She is a local artist with a good eye for framing and a much greater knowledge of all things art than me!

Again these changes will impact the running of the shop, but I hope to move things forward swiftly.

Initially I plan on allowing just one customer in the shop at a time. Luckily the area outside the shop is covered, and there is a bench you can sit as well as a sheep for that matter! once inside the shop I will do my best to maintain social distancing as well as wearing a mask and regular cleaning of the work tops and samples. I will provide hand sanitiser at the door. Maybe for the time being it would be best if only Mandy and handled the samples, but again we will adapt quickly as time goes on.

The maximum amount for contactless payment remains £30 but if you would rather pay remotely, there are options to do that as well.

I think that is all for now, I look forward to seeing you all and getting back to what we do best!

Covid 19 Update

Hello everyone, just a quick note to say that the shop remains closed to the public.

Hopefully we will be allowed to reopen in some capacity sooner rather than later and as soon as this is the case I will let you know.

In the meantime I will work out a plan for allowing the dropping off and collection of work in a safe way. I will also contact anyone who brought work in pre lockdown to arrange collection or possibly delivery as soon as possible.

Thank you all for your patience and understanding, fingers crossed I will be seeing you again soon

Pete

Happy New Year!

Hello everyone

The shop is open again after the Christmas and New Year break.

I have made a slight change to the opening times of the shop. We will now be open on Wednesday’s but closed on Monday’s.

As always I will be at the shop most days and will always welcome people in and answer the phone regardless of the opening times. The days we are officially closed are still useful for getting other things done though, hence why we have them.

Hope you all have a great 2020

See you soon

Pete

Shop closed this week

Hello everybody, just thought I’d remind you that the shop will be closed this week as I can no longer avoid having to spend time with the family!

The shop will reopen on Saturday the 10th and we’ll be firing on all cylinders as soon as possible.

Thanks as always for your loyal support

Pete

Shop closure

I’m really sorry to say that the shop has had to closed for the last couple of days.

I have been suffering with vertigo since Saturday night and though feel I am getting slowly (very slowly!) better, I am still in no fit shape to drive into work and man the fort.

I don’t take this decision lightly, but in this case I have no choice.

Phil will be in as usual on Thursday and Friday so if you have work to collect or drop off those days will be fine. I think that work already in with me will be delayed. As soon as i’m fit I’ll be in to resume battle and I’ll make up for lost time as quickly as possible.

once again I ask for your understanding and patience, and any remedies or tips for getting rid of vertigo would be greatly received…as long as they don’t involve roundabouts or cross channel ferries!

See you soon

Pete

2019

Happy new year everyone!

Just thought I’d take a moment to wish everyone a happy new year and also say a big thank you for a great 2018!

The end of the year was busy, the usual Christmas rush, but also some other spanners thrown into the works. But that’s life and it keeps moving forward. I took the opportunity to close the shop over the festive period and enjoyed time off with the family which was fantastic and we’re now back up running and firing on all cylinders!

The heavy workload at this time of year means that lead times are a little longer than usual, although Phil and I are working our socks off to ensure everything is completed as quickly as possible.

Thanks again

See you soon

Pete

Closure due to the snow...again!

The shop will again be closed today due to bad weather.

I will get across as soon as possible but obviously the disruption may now effect the collection date for this weeks work.

I will call everyone individually as soon as your work is completed and ready to collect.

Have a good day, and stay safe (and warm!)

Closure due to the snow

Good morning all,

Just to let you know that the shop will be closed this morning and probably the rest of the day due to the snow.

I will continue to monitor the weather and get across to the shop as soon as possible to resume the work for this week.

Thanks for your understanding

Pete's annual blog!

Well hello again!

It's been a whole year since my last blog post, and i'd suggested that I'd try to update the blog more often. Clearly I have failed at this! But hopefully we haven't failed at delivering for our customers on the framing front.

It has been another busy year, thank you all, and an especially busy end to 2017. We managed to complete all our Christmas orders (and then some) on time, and feel like we can start 2018 with a virtually clean slate...sorry Andrew, I still haven't got round to framing your rugby shirt!

I plan on taking a couple of weeks off over Christmas and the new year, to spend some quality time with the family. After a couple of weeks of that I'll be itching to get into the sanctuary of the shop!

So this means the shop will officially reopen on the January 6th 2018 with the next collection date being the 13th of January depending on the workload.

In the meantime, thanks to all our customers for continuing to support our small family business and make it the shop that it is. Have a fantastic Christmas and New Year and we'll see you in 2018.

Pete and Team

untitled shoot-9423.jpg

Hello again!

Thought I'd better update the blog as I was still wishing everyone a merry Christmas and informing you that the shop will be closed until January 2017!

It's been a busy old time in the shop, so Georgina, Phill and myself have been working hard to ensure we deliver the high level of service we expect of the shop. Thanks to all our customers old and new for keeping us on our toes!

I will endeavour to update the blog more often and the website in general, as it's too easy to let drift beneath the framing work load.

In theory I'll be in the shop in the hours of daylight during the summer holidays (and less often like a nocturnal framing gnome). Fast Phil will be in there as usual on Thursdays and Fridays.

Thanks for your custom and ongoing support

Pete and The Frame Shop Skipton team

Merry Christmas everybody!

Thank you all so much for your ongoing support and custom. 2016 has been a busy year in the shop but also great fun. It's been a real pleasure working with customers old and new.

The shop will now be shut until 10am on Saturday 31st January. All my suppliers have closed now until the new year, so I will also take this opportunity to have a break and recharge the batteries ready to go again in 2017!

In the meantime have a fabulous Christmas and a wonderful New Year.

Busy times in the shop

The shop has been busy this year, hence why I haven't updated the blog as often as I'd like!

The reindeer on the windows of the shop must mean Christmas isn't all that far away, so to avoid the rush make sure you get work in as early as possible. I will still try to turn work around as quickly as possible, but there will be a cut off date for work guaranteed to be done for Christmas. This will probably be around mid December as I have to allow for deliveries of moulding etc.

Thanks for all your custom and support this year,

Pete

Saturday Shop Closure

The Frame Shop will be closed for one day only on Saturday the 27th of August.

I will be attending the wedding of a close friend and have been unable to find suitable cover that will provide the usual high standards of customer care and service.

I hope you understand this decision, one I have not taken lightly, and I will endeavour to complete all work as normal.

Sorry for any inconvenience caused,

Pete
